Hi folks,
Well, it has been five months and here we are again. As I’m sure some of you have noticed, I did not post a roundup again a few weeks after my check-in in April. In fact, you haven’t heard a peep from me since then at all. (My profound apologies for the lack of peeps.)
The sad truth is that I ran myself way past ragged trying to maintain the NNR over the past couple of years. I managed to keep going for some time, but at significant personal cost, and eventually one stops being able to pour from an empty cup. It was not, and is still not, sustainable. Taking time to rest over the past six months has only made that more clear.
I believe in the importance of this work, and I greatly value doing it. It’s still my hope that one day, I’ll be able to do a smaller scale version of it again. But that day is not any time soon, and it’s important that I own and communicate that. At least for now, the NNR is an ex-parrot.
Thank you so much, readers, for taking the time to keep yourself up to speed on news over the past decade. I hope that you still have news sources you trust, and I am honored that I was one of those sources for a time.
I still plan to maintain this space and write occasional essays, so I’ll be around. And if you would like recommendations for valid news sources in this time of flagrant falsehood, please don’t hesitate to message me. As the first of said occasional essays, I will try to put source information into a more comprehensive post in the new year.
